MarienTaler | Admission

HELP US TO Preserve

We charge a fee known as the MarienTaler for visiting the church. The MarienTaler is used for the maintenance and preservation of the church and its art treasures. The fee is €5 (reduced rate €3) and can be paid in advance at tickets.st-marien-luebeck.de, on site in cash or by card. For groups, the fee is €4 per person from the 11th person onwards.

Children and young people, as well as members of the congregation, have free admission. The reduced rate applies to students, schoolchildren, recipients of social benefits and people with disabilities.

The MarienTaler is not charged for personal prayer, lighting candles or attending public devotions and church services. St. Mary's Church is available for prayer and devotion during the respective opening hours.

Lübeck Central Station, from there approx. 10-15 minutes on foot or with one of the bus lines listed below

By bus:
Bus lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 21, 25, 26, 30, 31, 34, 40, 50, 8710, 8720, 8770 and 8780 to the "Kohlmarkt/Sandstraße/Wahmstraße" stop, from there approx. 5 minutes on foot

By car:
Parking is not available directly at the church. Please use the surrounding parking facilities (e.g. "Parkhaus St. Marien Zentrum Lübeck" or "Parkplatz Laststadie" at the Congress Hall).

By bike/e-Scooter:
There are numerous bicycle parking facilities around St Marien. Charging stations for e-bikes can be found at the market, approx. 2 minutes' walk away. A SharingStation for eScooters can be found next to the Marienwerkhaus opposite the church
