Isn't it fascinating? There is a story that people all over the world share. And you can't even say whose story it is anymore. There is this story of a birth – and it makes me turn my longing towards God.
He comes to you, infects you with something like certainty of God. That lifts you up, you come back to yourself and know: you are loved, respected, wanted, because someone is behind you. To lean on. So that you can endure what is unbearable.
Advent and Christmas tell you that your longings are not illusions, but anticipate another world – a world in which light spreads warmth and love, in which you can be at home, in which God's flower blooms, in the middle of the cold winter, in the middle of the night.
