Walking Concert

If the musicians cannot come to the audience, then the audience will go to the musicians – or rather, to the instruments. The immobility of organs almost dictates the form of the Wandelkonzert, in which the audience moves between the individual venues. It is the only opportunity to hear the entire spectrum of church music on the important organs of all the churches in Lübeck's city centre and to listen to different ensembles in a single day. And it is a rare opportunity to be part of something special.

A different organ, a different organist, a different ensemble, a new piece. The atmosphere of Lübeck's Wandelkonzerte oscillates between the poles of cheerful and concentrated, between the robust physicality of walking and the ethereal spirituality of the musical experience.
