Music in St Marien
Lübeck Evening Music, the oldest concert series in the world, is still a central event in our programme today.
The most recent organ music series "Orgelpunkt 12" was started by Marienorganist Johannes Unger in 2019. Every year, the Lübeck Buxtehude Days, the festival for baroque music, is our musical highlight.
In addition, church music at St. Marien offers cyclical concerts, the Lübeck Organ Summer with performers from all over the world, the Capella St. Marien, the MarienBrass ensemble, the walking concert between all Lübeck city centre churches and the musical accompaniment to all church services and lunchtime services in summer at St. Marien.
You are very welcome to experience this great and perhaps unique variety.
You can make a Difference: Supporting Music
St Marien is a place of music with an important tradition. The name of Dieterich Buxtehude, the great master of North German baroque organ music, is representative of this.
To this day, not only is this tradition cultivated, but church music from all eras is performed here.
Support this important area of our culture, which connects the past, present and future in a moving way, with your donation.
You will of course receive a donation receipt from us.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

International Buxtehude Society
The International Dieterich Buxtehude Society has set itself the task of cultivating and disseminating the music of the great organist and composer of the Baroque period; it also promotes further research into his life, work and environment.
This goal is served by supporting or organising events and concerts as well as the Buxtehude Studies, which are published every two years.
To achieve this, we need the help of as many people as possible. That is why we are asking you: Become a member of our society. Download the form, fill it in and send it to us.
We look forward to welcoming you into our midst.
