Please note that our guided tours are held in German. So let our guides know if you would like the tour to be translated into English and they will be happy to do so if they can.
If you are a larger group, you can also request a guided tour in English for your group. We are currently working on offering our guided tours in other languages.

The vault of the nave of St. Marien is 38.50 metres high. Visitors to the tower and vault tours can see the mighty vault caps from above. They stand under the enormous roof and look through window hatches, open working doors and from the ridge turret over the old town and, on a clear day, as far as Travemünde, Mecklenburg and Holstein.
The way there leads up the stairs in the towers - past the carillon, mural crown and belfry.
The tour takes a good two and a half hours and is filled with stories about the hard working conditions of our medieval ancestors, many of whom spent their entire lives working on this building. It is an encounter with the marvellous intellectual, technical and physical achievements of people in the 13th and 14th centuries - and in the period of reconstruction after 1945.
Please note: We are currently working on being able to display our events here in english as well. Please use a suitable translator to be on the safe side.

Then your own tower and vault tour is something very special. On request, we will be happy to offer you a tour at the time of your choice. We also endeavour to accommodate thematic focuses, language and other requests.
The guided tours are organised by our team of volunteers. Please note that we need about two weeks' notice for organisational reasons.

Where can I book tickets?
TICKETSYou can book tickets at any time at tickets.st-marien-luebeck.de. You can also buy your tickets directly from the kiosk during the church's opening hours.
